Dearly beloved,
Especially given recent editorial changes, we have decided to take a break to think about what to do with issue 4 (which is already about 3/4 full) to properly mark the passing of Paul Stevens, who was the original inspiration for the journal. Contrary to previous announcements, therefore, we feel it appropriate to have a pause regarding submissions. You may by all means continue to submit, but we will not guarantee to read anything until about July. That doesn't mean we won't, just that we don't guarantee it. Those of you who have work (be it poetry or prose) which you think may be particularly relevant to a memorial issue for Paul are encouraged to submit in any case, and we will prioritise consideration of such submissions. Those of you who have already submitted work which is pending with us will receive our urgent attention.

Hopefully you will bear with us.
Many thanks, Philip and Ann
Angle is published twice a year, in Spring and Autumn. Submissions are open year-round, although our official reading period is approximately one month before each issue. We will, however, endeavour to respond within 1 month in most cases.
We have a preference for poetry in received or nonce forms, but are open to considering any work which has a strong element of rhythm or 'music', however achieved. Before submitting work to Angle we recommend that you read our previous issues cover to cover to familiarise yourself with the type and quality of poems we are seeking.
Please send all submissions of up to 6 poems (one per file) via our Submissions Manager below. Please ensure you include a brief literary biography in the "Cover Letter" section.
Simultaneous submissions are acceptable to us, so long as you advise us immediately if work is accepted elsewhere. We may, exceptionally, accept work which has been previously published elsewhere, although please advise if this is the case on submission.
Please do not submit more than once in any reading period.
We would ask, as a courtesy, that, following acceptance of a previously unpublished poem from ourselves, contributors do not submit the same work for consideration, or agree to its republication elsewhere until one month has elapsed following publication of the relevant Angle issue. Where work is subsequently republished, please include a first publication credit for Angle.
The editors' decisions are final. We regret that we cannot enter into any correspondence about our selection process.
For any queries or correspondence other than submissions, please emails us at: angleeditor[at]virginmedia.com
